Shop Green

Being a girl from the Pacific Northwest, where recycling is a way of life and no one would dream of driving somewhere that was within biking distance, I’m always looking for ways in which I can tread a little lighter on the earth.  Choosing renewable resources, buying local, putting on a sweater instead of cranking up the heat, taking your own bags when you go shopping…  These are just a few of the things millions and millions of people do every day to help our planet.  But did you know where you choose to shop and what brands of clothing you buy could make an impact?

A website called The Feast just released a list of 2o retailers doing their part to be eco-friendly.  Some of the companies are obvious: The North Face, REI, Nike and Patagonia, just to name a few.  But some other chains, eager to do their part to be eco-friendly were quite surprising: Kohl’s, Sears, Target, TJ Maxx and even WALMART!  Click here to see the full list of retailers being recognized for their eco-friendly efforts.

Now go shopping and feel good about helping the environment!
